Lisa Gilroy

BA(Hons), MPsych (Clin), MAPS (CClin)

 

Lisa has worked in private practice and as a Lecturer in Psychiatry at the University of Tasmania for the past 15 plus years. She has worked broadly across clinical areas but has had a special interest in the treatment of anxiety disorders including obsessive-compulsive disorder, generalised anxiety disorder, panic disorder and social and specific phobias, life adjustments, relationships and mood disorders. Therapeutic approaches include cognitive behavioural therapy, schema therapy and acceptance and commitment approaches.

 

Availability: Tues to Friday (limited a/h available)

Shirin Fernandez

BA (Hons) MPsych(Clin), MAPS(CClin)

 

Shirin has more than 25  years experience working in the the mental health area, having been based at the RHH treating those with a chronic illness. She has worked broadly but has an interest in eating disorders and mood disorders. Shirin works within a CBT/ACT framework and uses attachment theory as a guide during treatment.

I will be working full-time this year (up from 2 days per week) from end of February, so am interested in increasing my caseload. I am available after hours on Tues and Thurs and am willing to take emergencies on Saturdays mornings also.

 

Availability: Monday to Saturday (weekends and limited a/h available) Bulk Billing where eligible

Christine Clifford

BA(Hons), PhD, MAPS

 

Christine has been a psychologist for over 25 years graduating from the University of London with a PhD in psychology in 1983. Since that time she has maintained a balance between academic psychology and clinical practice. For the last 15 years Christine has taught in the discipline of Psychiatry in the Medical School and has a role at the Royal Hobart Hospital and a private practice. Christine has provided staff counselling for The University of Tasmania for 11 years over which time she has explored a wide range of issues, some of which have provided the impetus for the many workshops she has also delivered over this time.
